Red Camp Duty Roster/Red Camp Performance

Hey all D3 Dancers!

Yuting is here to update all of you regarding D3's involvement in Red Camp 7 this year. :)

1) Red Camp Tryout Stations [22th-24th Nov.]

This whole Red Camp Tryout stations is to give Secondary school pupils a chance to try out the different CCAs in NP.

D3 has been selected to be one of the Tryout Stations located at the convention centre's foyer.

So what we gotta do is to spend 3o minutes with the secondary school pupils, teaching them a short 4-eights dance routine. And the whole idea is to allow them to have fun doing it. and we will be teaching something that we have done before. so no need worry about choreographing. =)

We have a total of five sessions, two sessions per day. For each session, we'll have 4 groups of 50 pupils to teach.

The slots are stated in the duty roster below. I will need at least 5-7 dancers to be there for each sessions.

2) Time slot you wish to/is able to take. You may take more than just one sessions. =)

(Excuse letters will be given to those who have classes but still wish to take part.)

3) Tell me whether you need an excuse letter.

Actual Performance @ Red Camp

Date: 24th Nov 2010, Wednesday

Time: 7pm

Reporting time: 5pm.

Excuse letters will be issued. Please let Yuting know if you need an excuse letter by 12th Nov, Friday. Thanks :)

Vidshare: Contemporary dance: Silence :)

This is a really simple dance routine, but yet I could feel it. I could feel how the dancers commit to it and how passionate they were in this dance. they are really clean at some parts too. I just wanna share with you guys, cox you guys can do it as well. =)

Combination of the colours :Red, Black and white.

Basically, you just have to have these three colours in what you wear from top to bottom, including your shoes. JUST this three colours.

Take note: Do not wear jeans which are too tight, wear bottoms which you can kick with no restrictions.

Hey D3 Dancers!

DOGS Dancers will be performing at Singapore Discovery Centre for Youthphoria at 1pm today! (30th October 2010) If you are free, do come down and give us your support alrights!

Alrights, now comes the Flashmob item for RED CAMP.

Please take note, we will be focusing on the flashmob item for the whole of next week.

That would means from 30th Oct to 6th Nov 2010 is a crucial period for those who wants to perform for flashmob. We will be finalizing dancers and the dance item within this period.

RED CAMP is on the 22nd of NOVEMBER. We do not have much time. We still have Marcus's new choreography to work on. So please be considerate, and commit to our practice dates!

And please practice your steps on your own at home! So that our rehearsal can move on faster! Thanks!

Hello Fabulous Dancers!

As you all know, there is an official D3 excursion on the 16th October(saturday).
We will be watching 'refractions' staged by the Singapore Dance theater and there are lots of fun-filled activities planned out for you guys as well! Take note that we will still be having classes as usual in the morning though so remember to bring something pretty to change into yea. :)

It is part of D3's policies that dancers who are INACTIVE for three months would be de-registered from D3.
Marcus had also made it very clear last dance class, that each dancer should not be absent for more than 3 classes a month. [unless with REAL VALID reasons]
We really hope to get all your co-operation and commitment. =)

For dancers who aren't involved in the Contemp-jazz item, there will be dance materials for you guys to work on starting from this Friday. So I should not be hearing any more excuses for missing classes. Not forgeting, Saturday trainings as well.

4) Dance Funds
Please remember to hand in your $15 for this term to JARAH by next dance class. Thankyou.

Hi guys,

In view of the common tests/exams that you guys are having for the next two weeks, we will cut down on our dance classes, so that you guys can manage your time and study.

Dance classes that will be CANCELED on:
FRIDAY, 4th JUNE 2010
SATURDAY, 5th JUNE 2010
MONDAY, 7th JUNE 2010

We are not going to cancel ALL dance classes for this two weeks.
Reason being, Marcus has got choreographies to finish.
He would be away for a period of time in June, so its unwise to stop ALL classes now.
So please, manage your time, study and also dedicate abit of time to practice your dance routines. =P

However, if you really really really cannot turn up for dance classes, because of your commontests/exams, its okays, just approach me and let me know okays. =)
Afterall, studies is more important!

Dance Practices!

Hello Dancers!

Dance lesson officially starts tomorrow! (Bet you're excited ^^)

Venue: Block 71 Studio 2

Time: 7pm-9.30pm

Attire: Girls (non-revealing tops & comfortable dance tights)

Guys ( dance tights is not compulsory but please be in something comfortable)
**No Jeans/Denim Shorts/Skirts!
***Ballet shoes are not compulsory (if you have 'em and wants to wear, you can bring it along, Your choice!)

Eat something light before you come for class, don't starve yourself!

Remember to bring sufficient water too.

Btw, any of you interested in purchasing Foot Thongs? They are priced @ $25 each (Could be negotiated for a lower price if we purchase in bulk!)

Second audition

Hello dancers!! (:

For those who have missed out or had not made it through the first audition, fret not, there will be ANOTHER AUDITION THIS COMING SATURDAY (:

Date: Saturday, 8th May 2010
Time: 10.30am-12.30pm [probably end earlier]
Venue: Blk 71 #01-02 (beside school of BA)
Dress code: Non-revealing tops and stretchable pants

***This time round, audition will be in a form of dance class.
We will be doing our normal warm-up and technique routines + other stuffs depending on our instructor.
You are encouraged to come down an hour/half an hour before class on Saturday to run through the routines with our existing dancers. =)

If you are interested, just come down and give it a try! No harm! No worries!

Please note that this will be our LAST audition so DO make yourself free on the above-mentioned date. You are also reminded to bring $20 for the compulsory Orientation Day this Saturday if you have successfully passed the audition on the same day.

Hello dear freshies!!

First of all, welcome to Ngee Ann Polytechnic! We hope you will have a fun and meaningful experience throughout your 3 years here!! (:

Payments for T-Shirts

This is VERY IMPORTANT..
We are finally getting our T-Shirts.
The prices of your T-shirts is $12 each. =)

BUT, for those who have paid for our camp in 2009, you just need to pay $6.
Payments are to be paid latest by Saturday(17th April 2010) in Class.

Please remember to pay your club funds as soon as possible to Jarah by this Saturday(17th April 2010) too.

Schedule for JDC Rehearsals (EDITED)

Hello dancers!

As agreed on Monday, Friday's (19th March) rehearsal will be cancelled.

Due to some changes in the timing of transport, our meeting time for this Saturday will be pushed forward and everyone is required to assemble at 1pm sharp in school. There will be no rehearsals in the morning. Please take note that this is the EDITED version of 20th March schedule (:

Saturday (20th March 2010) :

1.00pm : Report at NP Cheers.

1.45pm: Bus pick-up at NP to head to RP

3pm to 4.30pm: JDC Full Dress Rehearsal at RP

5.30pm: Bus pick-up at RP to head to NP

6.15pm-7.00pm: Dinner break

7.30pm to 9.00pm: Final Rehearsal @ Studio 3

Note: Meals for Saturday (20th March) will not be provided since the timings for the rehearsal have been changed.

9.00am : Report at NP Cheers.

Hi dancers,

Like mentioned during class, we will be having two major rehearsal at Republic Polytechnic (RP).

Meals for both rehearsals are provided. So we don't have to bring our own food! Yays.

Two-way transport will also be provided for both days.

If you wish to go home straight from RP, please let Yuting know okays. Thanks lots. :)

Please take note of the timings that you guys have to report at NP kays!

Bring along your water bottles to hydrate yourself during rehearsals. :)

I'm sure most of you are excited about 3rd March because will we be going to NTU for our rehearsal yayy!!

Yes, so just to let your know the details. We will be having a rehearsal of our own in school before heading to NTU together (:

Venue: Blk 71, Studio 2
Dress code: Black tank top + black tights/pants, ballet/jazz shoes are not required.

Please have a heavy breakfast before coming. If you want, you may bring some snacks or finger food along too yep.
