As mentioned, our instructor will be viewing your audition tapes and the results will be released by 6th May.
We'll be contacting those who are selected via email as well.

A Message From Marcus

Hello Dancers!! Greetings from Shanghai!


I hope all is going smooth with the club and everyone is well and happy. I am sure you guys are having a blast with Fion!

Sorry I haven't been keeping you lot up to date with things on my side. I just like everyone to know that I WILL be back again to teach and share the things I have been influence by the last few months. Its been such an exciting and inspiring time for me. The last few weeks has especially allowed me to grow and learn in a lot of ways both as a person and an artiste. I have been in my creative zone brainstorming and listening to loads of music and watching shows. At this point of time I feel recharged and ready to come up with new material for class and choreography for new works.

For the time being I don't think I should officially announce anything just yet but I assure you that there are definitely plans in the making for future projects for the club. Keep working hard and invest as much time as you can in your training. Trust me, you'll be needing it when the time comes. ;)

I miss all of you and in the midst of my adventures I do think about you lot time to time. You are not forgotten! I look forward to our next chapter of growth and development. See you all real soon.

2011 Auditions- Closed

We'll be holding auditions for all who are interested to join our family. :)

We welcome everyone, with/ without dance experience to come join us at the following dates;

(1) 25th April, Monday

Time: 6.30pm
Venue: Blk 71, level 1 (middle studio)

(2) 29th April, Friday

Time: 6.30pm
Venue: Blk 71, Level 1 (*TBC)

(3) 30th April, Saturday

Time: 10.30am
Venue: Blk 71, Level 1 (Studio on the most right)


What to wear?
Comfortable, unrevealing clothing. Make sure you're able to move about freely in them.


If you are unsure where Blk 71 is, it right behind 72 (Business and Accountancy Block).
There would be signs leading you to our location of the auditions! :)
It would also be encouraged to report earlier as the auditions would be on a first come first served basis and do have a light meal before coming down!

Finalised Booth Roster

Dear dancers,

As mentioned before, CCA Fiesta is happening on the 18th and 19th April. Venue is at Atrium. Take note that name of our booth is 'Contemporary Dance'.

Excuse letters covering both days are given. Persons in-charge on both days for the booth are Dion and Christine, so contact them if you have any problems.
If you need to change slots, get someone to replace you and inform them as well.

Please take note of your duty slots and show up on time.

18th April

10am - 12pm: Christine Lee + Dion Bay
12pm - 2pm: Christine Lee + Sandy Goh *Both needs to leave earlier at 1pm for class
2pm (*come at 1pm) - 4pm: Kimberly Ang + Priscilla Chen

Dance will resume on 21 march (monday) at 6.30pm instead as there're other CCAs using our studio for their camps on friday and saturday.


There aren't any other studios available for us either.

Terribly sorry that this is on such short notice cause I'd just got to know on Thursday afternoon too.

The Emerging Choreographers III (EC III)

Hi dancers,

There is an interesting dance performance coming up. Hope everyone will be able to go watch together. Below are the details.

The Emerging Choreographers III (EC III)

Now in its third year, EC III features young choreographic talents – Lee Ren Xin, Lee Mun Wai as well as a Southeast Asian choreographer – bringing in current artistic dance trends from around the region. Ren Xin’s piece will reflects the many – and oftentimes silly and excessive – facets of life using the mundane image of human defecation while Mun Wai will further develop his interest with existentialism.

Marcus's Greetings from NYC!

Hey Dear D3 Dancers,

Marcus has sent us a love letter from NYC!! heehee :)

Dearest D3

Greetings from New York City! How are all of you doing? Hope the exams are not stressing you guys out too much. I'm just dropping in to give a quick update on stuff.

I have been working on the music for 'shades' the past few weeks and I've just completed the first cut for the entire 15min piece. I'm currently working on the write up for it and I can't wait to come back to finish this piece on you guys. I'm still putting the finishing touches to the music and I will send it to you guys within these 2 weeks.

Sorry for taking awhile but I needed the music to sound seamless without cuts or stops anywhere as it's a pretty long work. Also finding the suitable composition to suit the different sections plus making smooth transitions to following sections were the hardest bits to mix/edit. Thus making the process a really long one. I will send all of you an excerpt copy of the music as well so you guys can perform the completed section if an opportunity arises before my return.

That's all for now. Take care and do watch this space as I got a couple of exciting stuff to announce to you guys in the coming weeks.

Frontier Danceland Audition

PULSE 2011/2012 - AUDITION
Initiated by Frontier Danceland’s Artistic Director, Ms. Low Mei Yoke, in April 2010, PULSE is a year-long free training programme designed to nurture young and aspiring dancers. Participants’ potential will be stretched through rigorous weekly practical training in Contemporary dance technique, Improvisation and Composition, and horizons widened from exposure to various aspects of the production process. There will also be opportunities to work with and learn from choreographers, experienced educators and professionally trained dancers.

Compulsory Class on Mon & Sat

Hi peeps!

Do be reminded that there's class tomorrow! As for what we'll be doing tomorrow, it shall depend on our dance captain to decide since Marcus is not around for now. Although Marcus said that we should have a break for Feb, We've decided to make Monday and Saturday compulsory class, hence there will be no class on Friday! Starting from this Saturday we will be having Physical Training, so do remember to bring your shoes every Saturday to run on the stadium! Last class of the month will be on 14 Feb, Monday.

For those, who had not paid for the club fund and club tee, please do so tomorrow to Sandy and Shayne. Thanks.

Cast List for DOGS

Hello Dancers!

In accordance with today's announcement of the DOGS cast list, here it is for your reference ...


For those who are already casted into DOGS previously/ named out by Marcus, don't feel too comfortable! The dance captains will be selecting the new cast based on merit i.e. who does better.

So for the following practices, I hope to see everyone practising something, be it Shades of 13 or DOGS :) No more sitting around chatting please!

Don't feel demoralised if Marcus hasn't placed you in his pieces yet. Take this chance to show him that you can do and fight for the position!

We're hoping to send a new cast up for the next performance for DOGS, so work extra hard everyone! Remember the new cast has to show Marcus before he flies off (24th Jan)

Performance Date/Time: Thursday 6 Jan, 5.00pm - 5.15pm
Please assemble @ booth by 4pm and report to Dion & Yi De.

Stage Run Date/Time: Wednesday 5 Jan, 6.20pm
Please assemble @ outside studio by 5.45pm and report to Dion & Yi De.

Please be on time for your shift!
If you're delayed let the person doing the shift before yours know beforehand alright. Common courtesy!
