Resume Classes

Hello everyone!

I hope your common tests went well :) Classes will resume on the 13th. Jimmy will be coming in to work with us. Here's the schedule for next week:

13th: 7pm - 9.30pm (Jimmy)
17th: 7pm - 9.30pm (Jimmy)
18th: 11am - 2.30pm (Marcus)

Juniors and seniors are required to come for ALL 3 days. We've got lots to do!

Freshies' First Class

Hey guys,
Thank you to those who made it down to the freshmen induction. We hope you guys had fun getting to know each other!

Remember your first class will be held this coming Monday (16th May). Those who are appealing need to be there because it's the last time Marcus will be choosing anyone else to join the club!
*This class is only open to those who have attended our freshmen induction (incl. absence with valid reasons) or have emailed us regarding appeals.

As promised, here're the details to pertaining to your class schedules for now:
Monday: 6.30pm - 9.30pm, 73-03-08
Friday:  6.30pm - 9.30pm, 73-03-08

Do take note that this schedule will not remain permanent as we will be swtiching up the classes as you guys get to know Marcus' material, especially when performances are coming up.

Lastly, bring along your water bottle for class because you're going to need it!

Freshman Induction 2011 **UPDATED**

Dear Freshies,

Welcome to D3 Contemporary Dance Club! There will be a freshman induction on 14 May 2011. This is a compulsory event. Do take note if you're absent without any valid reason, it would be considered as immediate deregisteration from the club.

Another message from Marcus

Greetings from Hong Kong! How’s it going guys??


I just finished watching the clips to the audition and I’m so happy to see so many people taking interest in joining the club. Thank you for taking the time to come down and share your talent with us. The results will be out shortly and those selected will be contacted via email.

To give you an idea of what we are looking for here is someone who is earnest in learning, fierce in their approach and with some level of technique but the latter is not really the most important bit for me. I like to see bravery and commitment in my dancers, someone who is willing to just take in everything and return the same energy I give to them. I don’t wish to spend too much time coaxing people to come out of their shell to dance their heart out. I want to see people just ready to rock it!

Dance is a very much mental as it is physical.
 
Also I liked to take this opportunity to point out that if you are not selected please don’t be dishearten as due to space constraints for training and rehearsals we can only take in a certain number of people. For any reason If you feel that the results were not justified you are welcome to appeal and re-audition by taking class with us. And we will reevaluate you based on how well you cope with the material in class.


As for my newbies… Congrats and welcome to D3! I look forward to working and training with you guys.

A Message From Marcus

Hello Dancers!! Greetings from Shanghai!


I hope all is going smooth with the club and everyone is well and happy. I am sure you guys are having a blast with Fion!

Sorry I haven't been keeping you lot up to date with things on my side. I just like everyone to know that I WILL be back again to teach and share the things I have been influence by the last few months. Its been such an exciting and inspiring time for me. The last few weeks has especially allowed me to grow and learn in a lot of ways both as a person and an artiste. I have been in my creative zone brainstorming and listening to loads of music and watching shows. At this point of time I feel recharged and ready to come up with new material for class and choreography for new works.

For the time being I don't think I should officially announce anything just yet but I assure you that there are definitely plans in the making for future projects for the club. Keep working hard and invest as much time as you can in your training. Trust me, you'll be needing it when the time comes. ;)

I miss all of you and in the midst of my adventures I do think about you lot time to time. You are not forgotten! I look forward to our next chapter of growth and development. See you all real soon.

2011 Auditions- Closed

We'll be holding auditions for all who are interested to join our family. :)

We welcome everyone, with/ without dance experience to come join us at the following dates;

Time: 6.30pm

(3) 30th April, Saturday

Time: 10.30am
Venue: Blk 71, Level 1 (Studio on the most right)


What to wear?
Comfortable, unrevealing clothing. Make sure you're able to move about freely in them.


If you are unsure where Blk 71 is, it right behind 72 (Business and Accountancy Block).
There would be signs leading you to our location of the auditions! :)
It would also be encouraged to report earlier as the auditions would be on a first come first served basis and do have a light meal before coming down!

As mentioned before, CCA Fiesta is happening on the 18th and 19th April. Venue is at Atrium. Take note that name of our booth is 'Contemporary Dance'.

Excuse letters covering both days are given. Persons in-charge on both days for the booth are Dion and Christine, so contact them if you have any problems.
If you need to change slots, get someone to replace you and inform them as well.

Please take note of your duty slots and show up on time.
